#1884 | 140 years of the Konzerthaus Stettin

#1884 is a project dedicated to the history of the Konzerthaus, which preceeded the Szczecin Philharmonic building in its present location. Thanks to the stories told by Szczecin tourist guide Joanna Olszowska, participants will be able to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of both pre-war Stettin and the unique place that was the Konzerthaus itself. Accompanied by a guide, we will go on a historical walk through the main concert hall, the entry hall, the cloakrooms, all the way to the summer garden, which 140 years ago was located at the back of the now non-existent building.

The journey will be complemented by a multimedia 3D mapping show held at 6:00 p.m. created by Szczecin's Pushka Studio, based on archival photos provided by the National Museum in Szczecin, a 3D model of the Konzerthaus made by Bartosz Lemke, and photos from the construction of the current seat of the Szczecin Philharmonic by Radek Kurzaj. The combination of narrative and modern technologies will make possible the resurrection of history and the spirit of the times in which Szczecin was a place of flourishing culture and art. This is an extraordinary opportunity to learn about the pre-war history of the city, which to this day remains part of the common heritage of Poland and Germany.
